STUDENTS:
Be a safety leader for your friends by crossing carefully at corners and crosswalks, always walking or rolling on the sidewalk.
Wear bright clothing and lights or something reflective on your jacket or backpack.
Set an example for your classmates by finding walking buddies in your neighborhood, then encourage each other to walk to school as often as possible.
PARENTS & CAREGIVERS:
Set an active example for your student by organizing a regular walking school bus from your neighborhood at least once a week.
Help your child find neighborhood walking buddies.
Practice walking to school with your child to reinforce safe walking behavior.
When driving, remember to slow down in school zones to make it safe for students to cross the street.
